Join us for two weeks of engineering fun

Our Advanced Aerospace Technologies Exploration Experience (AATEE) camp offers instruction in computer science and engineering in a safe and fun environment. Rising high school seniors will make friends, experience the beautiful University of Kansas campus in Lawrence, and challenge themselves by experimenting with drone piloting, model car programming, and more!

Who is eligible?

Rising seniors who are attending high school in Kansas are eligible for this camp. Space is limited, and students who have members of the military in their family and students who attend rural high schools will be prioritized.

And you're telling me it's FREE?

Yup! Room, board, tuition, even a ticket to Worlds of Fun - all expenses are covered by a grant from the Department of Defense. The only thing you need to provide is transportation to and from Lawrence.



Activities include

  • Instruction in applied physics

  • Collaborative projects in real-world research environments, including autonomous race cars and drones

  • Modern computer programming, such as Python and robot operating systems

  • Introductory programing of open-source autopilot systems like NVIDIA’s Racer RTX, Dronecode, and ArduPilot, with actual validation experiments

  • Career advice and an introduction to college life in beautiful Lawrence, KS

  • Fun activities, including a day at Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun
